This photo series was a work I created that was centralised around the idea of perception and how looking at something in a different way can change its meaning. The external images show each side of the fruit and the overlay effect demonstrates the differences that appear just through turning the fruit. The internal images offer another stark contrast, one that mirrors the ideal of "not to judge a book by it's cover." Whilst we recognise most of these common fruits, I wonder, if you had never seen them before, would you be able to easily pair them together? My aim with the work was to create a greater understanding about how we perceive things and to utilise this idea in the world around us.
